This page presents the Call for ELLIS Lightning Talks at ICTERI-2024. The track is organized by:
- ELLIS Unit Prague (https://ellis.eu/units/prague)
- ELLIS Associate Unit Lviv (https://ellis.eu/units/lviv)
A Key to the Call Information
ELLIS (https://ellis.eu/) – the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems – is a pan-European AI network of excellence, which focuses on fundamental science, technical innovation, and societal impact. Founded in 2018, ELLIS builds upon machine learning as the driver for modern AI and aims to secure Europe’s sovereignty in this competitive field by creating a multi-centric AI research laboratory. ELLIS wants to ensure that the highest level of AI research is performed in the open societies of Europe, and follows a three-pillar strategy to achieve that.
There is a nice practice, supported by ICTERI and ELLIS, that the authors of recent papers, published at top-tier conferences, are invited to present their contributions. At ICTERI-2024, we start offering this dissemination channel to our community. For that, we solicit proposals for lightning talks that:
- Have 10-minute duration, followed by the 10-minute questions and answers
- Concisely present the research results that have been published in 2023 or 2024, or have been accepted for publication in 2024 at a top-tier venue in a machine learning-driven field.
- The list of venues is: NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, JMLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, IJCV, PAMI, RSS, CoRL, TRO, IJRR, Science Robotics, ACL, EMNLP, KDD, AAAI, IJCAI, COLT, UAI, AAMAS, AISTATS, TACL, SIGIR, WSDM, Web Conference
- If there is available space publications at other venues will be also considered
- Show the perspective of the further research within the focus of the published result
- Inspire the audience to adopt the contribution or use it for cross-evaluation
ELLIS Lightning Talks track will not publish the abstracts of the accepted talks, as the goal of the track is to enable the dissemination of already published quality results and stimulate cooperation around these results. Instead of publishing, we will post the abstracts and presentations slides of the accepted talks to the ICTERI-2024 (https://icteri.org/icteri-2024/) and ELLIS Associate Unit Lviv (https://apps.ucu.edu.ua/en/ellis/) websites, if the authors wish to disseminate their materials using these channels.
We solicit proposals of lightning talks about the recently published original contributions in machine learning-driven fields. Please see the list of venues above. If there is available space publications at other venues will be also considered.
Mode of Participation
ICTERI supports and respects all the aspects that help promote diversity in our conference community, which aspires to facilitate a truly international and multicultural gathering. Therefore, we prefer physical assembly for the conference as the most effective mode for scientific exchange and community building.
The information about the arrangements and requirements for the virtual attendees is provided and updated at https://icteri.org/icteri-2024/hybrid/.
